UP Tacloban conducts College-wide Gender Sensitivity Training and Anti-Sexual Harassment Orientation

27 March 2025

UP Tacloban’s Gender and Development Program (GDP) and Office of Anti-Sexual Harassment conducted six sessions of gender sensitivity training (GST) and anti-sexual harassment (ASH) orientation from 5 to 19 March 2025 as part of the college’s National Women’s Month celebration.
Around 115 faculty members and non-teaching personnel, including security and janitorial staff, attended the GST and ASH orientation sessions held on 5 and 7 March in collaboration with the Human Resource Development Office. The UP ASH Code requires all personnel to attend the ASH orientation every three years.
Meanwhile, around 120 students attended the GST and ASH orientation sessions held on 8 and 19 March in partnership with the Office of Student Affairs.
Session participants engaged in discussions on various forms of sexual violence in
public and private spaces, examining their impact on individuals and communities. They also reviewed UP’s ASH Code, including reporting procedures, available remedies, and corresponding penalties.
In a parallel effort, UPTC’s National Service Training Program (NSTP) held GST and ASH orientations in seven Civic Welfare Training Service 2 classes on 5 and 8 March 2025.
