UP Tacloban’s BS Economics Program and Economics Society held the 6th Oikonomia Forum titled “Power of the Purse: The Philippine Budgeting Process and Its Implications to Economic Development” on 25 September 2025 at the AS Conference Hall.
Ms. Zy-za Nadine Suzara, public budget analyst and former iLEAD Executive Director, discussed the national budget cycle, its impact on inclusive development, and the importance of transparency and citizen participation in public spending. The forum also highlighted the role of fiscal policy in shaping national priorities.
