Leadership Forum: Conversations with Changemakers @ UP Tacloban

14 April 2025

More than 300 fourth and fifth year students of UP Tacloban College attended “Conversations with Changemakers @ UP Tacloban,” a leadership forum organized by the Office of Student Affairs on 4 April 2025, 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Library Hall.
Guest speakers Addie Quiachon of InvestEd, Carl Javier of Data Ethics PH, and Tere Domine of Kalsada Coffee exemplified the changemaker mindset in their accounts of leadership rooted in purpose, innovation, and community impact. Quiachon spoke about driving inclusive growth and empowering unbanked youth through personal advocacy and strategic marketing. Javier emphasized that leadership is a creative act, often requiring one to go beyond the page, collaborate, and be other-focused. Domine discussed empowering smallholder coffee farmers and increasing product quality by nurturing sustainable practices and transparent partnerships.
The leadership forum aims to help equip graduating students with a “changemaker”
mindset that will enable them to navigate a volatile and complex global landscape and inspire them to adopt innovative and sustainable problem-solving approaches in addressing pressing social issues in the country.
