Gurong Pahinungód orientation for graduating UPTC students

UP Tacloban’s Ugnayan ng Pahinungód conducted a Gurong Pahinungód orientation for graduating UPTC students on 19 March 2025 at DM Conference Room 2. The Gurong Pahinungód program deploys UP graduates as volunteer teachers to underserved and marginalized communities for one school year.
Gurong Pahinungod coordinator Ms. Megan Eala outlined the program’s history, objectives, and opportunities. UP Tacloban Sociology alumnus and now BARMM MBHTE Chief for Curriculum and Instruction Mr. Yul Olaya shared his experiences as a former Gurong Pahinungod, highlighting the rewards and challenges of teaching in underserved communities. UPTC Psychology alumnus Raymond Alberia, who is currently deployed as a Gurong Pahinungod in Antique, also shared his experiences via video testimony.
