Last 10-12 January 2025 UP Tacloban’s Ugnayan ng Pahinungod held a training workshop on mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) for persons with disabilities and parents of children with disabilities, in partnership with Nationwide Organization of Visually Impaired Empowered Ladies (NOVEL), a group of women with visual impairment pushing for gender equality and disability inclusion.
The workshop, which was held at the Leyte Samar Heritage Center, was facilitated by BA Psychology faculty. The same group provided psychological first aid to persons with disabilities and their families who were affected by Typhoons Kristine and Pepito in Laoang, Northern Samar on 29 November-1 December 2024, also in coordination with NOVEL Philippines.
